Villa d'Este

Villa d’Este is one of Lake Como’s most iconic luxury wedding venues, set directly on the lakefront in Cernobbio. Originally built in 1568 as a private residence for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, the estate has operated as a luxury hotel since 1873 and is surrounded by approximately 25 acres of historic gardens. Weddings can take place across the hotel’s Italian gardens, lake-view terraces and historic reception rooms. The Impero Room, one of the principal spaces for wedding receptions, can accommodate up to 210 seated guests and up to 350–400 guests for a cocktail-style event. The lake-facing Grill Terrace can host up to 150 guests, providing an outdoor alternative for receptions and private celebrations. Unlike most private Lake Como wedding villas, Villa d’Este offers extensive accommodation directly on the property. The hotel has 151 rooms and suites across the Cardinal Building and Queen’s Pavilion, together with four private villas within the estate. Boat transfers, limousine transfers and helicopter arrivals can also be arranged by the hotel. Villa d’Este does not publish a fixed wedding rental price. Weddings are quoted individually according to the date, guest count, event spaces, catering, accommodation requirements and level of exclusivity, so couples should request a current proposal directly from the hotel.
