Villa del Balbianello

Villa del Balbianello is one of the most recognisable historic wedding venues on Lake Como, set on the wooded Lavedo peninsula near Lenno. Created in the late eighteenth century by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, the villa is now protected and managed by FAI, the Italian National Trust. Weddings are centred around the famous Loggia Durini, terraced gardens and panoramic lake views. Villa del Balbianello is officially available for both civil and symbolic ceremonies. The Loggia Durini can accommodate up to 60 seated guests, while larger ceremony layouts can host around 80–100 people. Wedding dinners can accommodate up to 130 guests on the lakeside terrace. Unlike many private villas on Lake Como, Villa del Balbianello does not offer guest accommodation. One room may be available for the newlyweds on request and at additional cost. Guests typically arrive by private boat from Lenno, although the property can also be reached by a roughly 1 km uphill walking path. Villa del Balbianello wedding cost starts from approximately €9,800 + VAT for a two-hour ceremony for up to 50 guests in 2026. Pricing increases according to guest count, event duration, day of the week and whether exclusive use is required. Full wedding receptions can be extended into the night on request and for an additional fee.
